Fingers crossed, but it may not happen tonight, folks...

There is also no listing for Terrapin Crossroads or Phil & Friends in San Rafael, CA at InTicketing.com yet. More updates as they become available.

Feb 17 2012: Terrapin Crossroads News Update: Terrapin Crossroads Bar & Family Room Soft Opening Thursday March 8 2012; Three Railroad Earth members to join Phil Lesh in the Lounge Sunday March 11 2012
Terrapin Crossroads has announced that they will be having a soft opening for their Bar and downstairs Family Room (previously known as the Chart Room during the Seafood Peddler days) on Thursday, March 8 2012. They plan to serve a lounge menu and creative drinks, "to give you a taste of what's to come when we officially open the restaurant in a few months". Phil Lesh will be dropping by often to play in the lounge with his son, Grahame. And the best part of this announcement: On March 11th Tim Carbone, John Skehan and Andy Goessling of Railroad Earth will join Phil Lesh in the lounge. Sounds like a lot of fun! And if you are a highly qualified and creative Executive Chef, please note that Terrapin Crossroads still has that job posting published, if you are qualified and interested or know someone who is, please refer them to the Terrapin Crossroads Employment Opportunities page.

Feb 15 2012: Terrapin Crossroads News Update: Phil & Friends 2/14/2012 Webcast Reviewed; 12-Show Phil & Friends Run; Ticket Sales Information
Phil & Friends 2/14/2012 Webcast Reviewed: The show was great! But there were some hiccups initially and some throughout. Earlier in the day the ticket sales portal and the webcast portal were pointing to a "Joomla login" that didn't allow registrations, apparently the portal wasn't completely setup, configured and tested; later on in the day the site was taken down with a message that said, "We will be back shortly. This site is down for maintenance. Please check back again soon"; up until 6:10 PST or so, after which time the site came back up and during registration, was flaky and prone to saying, "Infinite loop detected", but after a few tries we were able to get registered, logged in and the feed started to stream. The show started about an hour late and only went on for one set, but it was a rich and energetic performance. Everyone seemed very happy, especially Phil Lesh (congrats to you on realizing your latest dream!). The musicians seemed to warm up and gel better with each song they played. It was unique to experience so many angles in the performance; Warren Haynes lent an Allman Brothers feel to Phil Lesh's Grateful Dead bass lines, while Jackie Greene lent his pop-like style to the vocals on Scarlet Begonias and other songs. John Scofield's jazzy guitar style was a definite treat in the mix. At times you would have three guitars (Warren Haynes, Jackie Greene and John Scofield), while other times Jackie would act as a second keyboardist on the organ, pairing up with Jeff Chimenti and lending vocals here and there. Most of the community has agreed that the audio quality was a bit high-gain and over-driven, and that the video was not high-definition; neither the audio or video were up to the standards we have all become accustomed to from Bob Weir's TRI Studios - and that is the standard we would all like to experience from Terrapin Crossroads webcasts. Users on wireless networks complained of choppiness in the stream, while those on wired networks seemed to report better experiences (we used a wired network and had a very smooth experience). Users of iPads reported not being able to use their devices to view the webcast, however considering the webcast was in Adobe Flash this may come as no surprise. Certainly all of the feedback will be very useful to Phil Lesh and his team as they work towards tweaking the webcast process and working out all of the issues that were experienced on their Valentine's Day 2012 free webcast. For those of you who saw this free webcast, you are welcomed and encouraged to give your feedback regarding the quality of the Terrapin Crossroads webcast, both the good and the bad. Overall the show was very enjoyable and was over all too quickly; it was a perfect Valentines Day gift to the Phans. The appetite is certainly there for more PL&F webcasts coming up in March on select shows. Here is the setlist for Phil Lesh & Friends 2/14/2012 Terrapin Crossroads webcast:

12-Show Phil & Friends Run: Phil Lesh & Friends will be doing a twelve-show run at Terrapin Crossroads starting March 17 and ending April 1 2012. One has to wonder if the April Fools Day show will have any surprises? The lineups will be different most nights, rotating between the following fourteen fantastic musicians: Phil Lesh, Grahame Lesh, Brian Lesh, Chris Robinson, Jeff Chimenti, Jimmy Herring, Joe Russo, Bob Weir, Jackie Greene, John Kadlecik, Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams, Warren Haynes and Jaz Sawyer. During this run Terrapin Crossroads will have a full bar and a limited dinner menu on show nights, and there may be an option to make reservations as well. Webcasts will be offered for $5.00 for select shows; not a bad deal at all for those who can't make it. And for those who can make it to a show, they say tickets should be available at all price levels. But right now we're only seeing two price levels: General Admission Tickets for $150 and VIP Tickets for $300. VIP Tickets include access to their Living Room, complimentary Hors D’oeuvres, special access to the Private Pay Bar, early entrance to the show, limited edition Terrapin Crossroads Poster signed by Phil Lesh and a VIP Laminate. They also are offering some Weekend Packages, which include 1 (one) ticket to each show in the package and a souvenir gift (a price was not currently noted for weekend packages, reportedly a member here paid $1008 for this package). Based on their statement, "tickets at all price levels", we're all hoping to see more tiered ticket pricing than the current $150 or $300 options; not everyone can afford these rates, which are higher than one would even pay at a Furthur show, which averaged $47 per ticket in 2010 and $52 per ticket in 2011. Of course price is partly dictated by the small size of the venue - less capacity equals higher ticket prices (supply and demand folks), but their statement that tickets will be available "at all price levels" is encouraging, so let's wait and see what happens there. People are also requesting that not just select shows be webcast, but that as many shows as possible are webcast, potentially all of them! The benefit is that many people can afford $5 a show and would take advantage of that pricing over the $150 or $300 ticket options presently available. We have created a poll, "Poll: Can you afford $150 or $300 Terrapin Crossroads tickets?", where you can cast your vote and enter your comments about the current ticket pricing, so everyone, please feel free to participate. Last but not least, there are Terms & Conditions for buying tickets and attending the shows. Here's the details: All tickets are non-transferable. Each ticket must be purchased with a corresponding name and ID and your name and ID will be required at the door. In lieu of ID you must present the card you used to purchase the tickets. In the interest of community and good will, we ask that everyone abide by our purchasing T&C. No cameras, photography, filming or taping of any kind will be allowed. No babes-in-arms. No dogs will be allowed on the premises. Last but not least, here is the lineup for the twelve-show Phil Lesh & Friends run at Terrapin Crossroads:
March 17 (Saturday): Phil Lesh, Grahame Lesh, Brian Lesh, Chris Robinson, Jeff Chimenti, Jimmy Herring, Joe Russo and Bob Weir

Ticket Sales Information: The pre-sale of weekend packages and VIP tickets for all scheduled shows was scheduled to start Tuesday, February 14, with Regular individual show tickets scheduled to go on sale February 20 2012. As previously noted, there were some technical problems with the Terrapin Crossroads ticket sales portal and the option to buy tickets was removed from the TC Events Calendar until they get the issues resolved. As of the time of publication of this news update, the issues have not been resolved and there is presently no option to buy VIP tickets or Weekend Packages. You can check the Terrapin Crossroads Events Calendar as often as you like, when you see the option to buy tickets to any of the shows listed, then you know you're good to go. Good news: An update was just posted on the Terrapin Crossroads site, "we will be ready for the VIP and Week End Package onsale today at noon PST".

Phil also announced a Free Webcast at 6:00PM PST today, February 14 of Phil Lesh & Friends featuring Jackie Greene, Jeff Chimenti, John Scofield, Joe Russo and Warren Haynes. Very interesting lineup! Unfortunately, the outsourced provider contracted to stream tonight's debut show for free, MicroTechs of the SF Bay Area, has apparently complicated the issue: initially when you tried to view the stream you got, "We will be back shortly. This site is down for maintenance. Please check back again soon"; up until 6:10 PST or so, later the site came back up and during registration, was flaky and prone to saying, "Infinite loop detected", but after a few tries we were able to get registered, logged in and the feed is starting to stream. Let's hope for high-definition audio and video and no additional hiccups. A review of tonight's show will be published tomorrow.

Nov 12 2011: Terrapin Crossroads News Update: No Terrapin Crossroads in Fairfax; San Rafael Possibly Being Considered
On November 8th 2011, Richard Halstead of the Marin Independent Journal published that Phil Lesh has made a decision on whether to move forward or not with his Terrapin Crossroads project in Fairfax. Bruce Burman of Jazz Builders, Inc., the project manager and representative for Phil Lesh on the Terrapin Crossroads project, released this short statement on the Leshes behalf:
"After careful consideration we have decided not to move forward with Terrapin Crossroads in Fairfax. For all of you that have supported our efforts and helped to define the vision, we are extremely grateful. Phil looks forward to making music and creating a community gathering place sooner rather than later."
Bruce Burman declined to provide any additional details or information. Additionally, Phil and Jill Lesh are presently on tour on the East Coast with Furthur and are unavailable for comment. To most people this decision comes as no surprise. While Fairfax was convenient to Phil's home just a mile down the road in Ross, it was painfully obvious from the first reaction of the residents of Fairfax that Fairfax was in fact not the ideal location at all for a slew of reasons that they identified - Terrapin Crossroads was simply too big for the small town of 7,551 people [2010 US Census]. Phil's decision to take the path of least resistence and to consider other more ideal locations comes across as a wise move on his part. Bruce Burman's statement makes it clear that another location is being carefully selected. According to Richard Halstead of the Marin Independent Journal, Phil Lesh may be considering San Rafael as the home for his Terrapin Crossroads venue. With a larger population of 57,713 [2010 US Census], San Rafael is nearly 8 times larger than Fairfax and is still only a few miles down the road from Ross; and with the 101 (Redwood Highway) and the 580 (John T. Knox Freeway), San Rafael offers much better road infrastructure and connectivity to the greater Bay Area and could easily accommodate 500 concert goers any day or night of the year. As Bruce said, "Phil looks forward to making music and creating a community gathering place sooner rather than later", so we look forward to hearing additional news and announcements from the Leshes and their representatives once they have had a chance to iron out some of the key details: what city to call home and an actual site for Terrapin Crossroads. San Rafael seems like a fine choice and we all wish Phil Lesh the best in realizing his dream of Terrapin Crossroads as soon as reasonably possible. As always, you are invited to join the TerrapinLanding.com forums to vote on the various polls and to discuss Phil Lesh's Terrapin Crossroads Venue.
Nov 4 2011: Terrapin Crossroads News Update: Nothing yet, folks...
Phil and Jill Lesh were planning to announce in mid-October whether they intended to move forward with their application to the Fairfax Town Council to open the Terrapin Crossroads venue there or not. Nearly three weeks have passed since that time of an expected decision being announced and not a word has been mentioned about the project or their intentions - so we're all just patiently waiting and wondering what Phil Lesh is planning to do. At this point he could decide a) not to move forward with the Fairfax Township and may be in the midst of selecting an alternate location, b) decide to move forward with Fairfax or c) to scrap the idea of having a venue entirely. We want to hear from you: What do you think Phil Lesh should do? Please join the TerrapinLanding.com forums to discuss Phil Lesh's Terrapin Crossroads Venue.
Sep 29 2011: Terrapin Crossroads News Update
The latest news is that Phil and Jill Lesh are taking a break and spending time with their younger son, who is returning to college out of state at Princeton. Afterwards Phil Lesh will be on tour with Furthur, returning home to Marin County in mid-October, shortly after which Phil and Jill will decide whether or not to proceed with their application to open their planned venue, Terrapin Crossroads, in Fairfax. Will they choose to continue with their application or will they opt for another location within Marin County, or elsewhere in the greater Bay Area? We'll find out soon enough, stay tuned. Meanwhile, our friends at the SanAnselmo-FairfaxPatch.com have created an informal poll, "Do you support the Terrapin Crossroads project?". Presently the poll results are split down the middle, leaning against the project, but please note, while people were discouraged from voting more than once, it's likely that many people did just that. You can check out the poll, cast your vote, read the comments and comment yourself at http://sananselmofairfax.patch.com/articles/poll-phil-leshs-terrapin-crossroads. Alternatively, we here at TerrapinLanding.com have offered a similar poll regarding Terrapin Crossroads in our forums since September 10th 2011. Our poll strictly allows only one vote per user, which will offer more accurate results. Feel free to join our forums, to cast your vote and to voice your comments at http://www.terrapinlanding.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18.
Sep 10 2011: Welcome to the new TerrapinLanding.com community!
Welcome to the new community. TerrapinLanding.com is dedicated to the discussion of Phil Lesh's proposed new music venue, Terrapin Crossroads.
Phil Lesh's Terrapin Crossroads, also previously known as Terrapin Landing, a music venue planned for construction in Marin County, California, was first announced publically by Lesh in the last week of March 2011 and is currently only in the planning stages. And there have been some snags. Once Lesh announced his intention to build the venue at the site of the Good Earth building on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Fairfax, California, there was immediate opposition, then the Lesh's set their sites on the vacant gas station directly next door to the Good Earth building and were surprised to see that the town's reaction was not much better, in fact, it may have been worse. Will the venue find a home in the small town of Fairfax (population 7,551 [2010 US Census]), in another town in Marin County, or somewhere else, urban or rural or otherwise in the greater Bay Area? Is the problem for the town of Fairfax the potential influx of Deadheads, the lack of any on-site venue parking, the congested streets, the potential for public intoxication (drugs, alcohol), noise, crime, vagrancy and vandalism or all of the above? Are all of the concessions that the Lesh's have offered to the town not enough? Phil Lesh has said many times in writing that he is ready to retire from touring and wants to do gigs close to home, hence his idea for the Terrapin Crossroads live music performance venue. Fairfax is ideal not only because of his ties to the community, but it's literally walking distance from his Ross residence. Will Lesh have to commute a bit further and find another location for his venue or will Fairfax ultimately give him the permits he needs to open up shop? Only time will tell. But should Fairfax not work out, no worries, Phil may respond like this again (or otherwise, and could you blame him?) and will simply move on to find a more ideal site. There are lots of performance venues all over California, so we're all quite certain that Phil Lesh's dream for a venue is not only reasonable but that it can and will eventually be realized, hopefully long before his number is called. Meanwhile, feel free to voice your opinions and follow the latest news and developments as they become available. And welcome to the new community!
